Dollar is located in Clackmannanshire, Scotland. North of Dollar is the Ochil Hills on top of which is the Castle Campbell founded in 1400. Dollar Burn runs from the hills along the Dollar Glen finally dividing the village in two. University town of Stirling is located fifteen kilometres away and the nearest airport is situated in Edinburgh. A91 is one of the main roads of Clackmannanshire and it runs through the village.
Dollar Academy was founded in 1818 with the help of the Captain John McNabbs donation. The school was for the poor of the parish of Dollar and shire of Clackmannan until 1975 when the Academy went independent instead of becoming a local comprehensive. (Dollar Academy). The pupils in their school uniforms cannot go unnoticed in the daily street scene. The pedestrians and the vehicles are multiplied during the schools starting, closing and lunch times.
